2 - Kubernetes Pods

04 Mar 2019

What is a Pod? Pods are the smallest deployable units of computing that can be created and managed in Kubernetes. A pod (as in a pod of whales or pea pod) is a group of one or more containers (such as Docker containers), with shared storage/network, and a specification for...

0 - Kubernetes Overview

21 Feb 2019

What is Kubernetes? Kubernetes is a production-grade, open-source platform that orchestrates the placement (scheduling) and execution of application containers within and across computer clusters. Kubernetes provides a container-centric management environment. It orchestrates computing, networking, and storage infrastructure on behalf of user workloads. https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/overview/what-is-kubernetes/ Kubernetes vs Docker Swarm vs Apache Mesos...
Access Kubernetes API with Client Certificates

01 Feb 2019

Controlling Access to the Kubernetes API Users access the API using kubectl, client libraries, or by making REST requests. Both human users and Kubernetes serevice accounts can be authorized for API access. When a request reaches the API, it goes through several stages, illustrated in the following diagram: For more...
Cryptography and Public Key Infrastructure

31 Jan 2019

1. Cryptography Cryptography is used to protect information and communications. This is typically done by using cryptographic techniques to scramble plaintext (ordinary text) into ciphertext (encoded text) and back again. This scrambling process is called encryption. The reverse process is called decryption. Cryptography is concerned with the following objectives: Confidentiality:...
Install Kubernetes using kubeadm

28 Jan 2019

Using kubeadm,a minimum viable Kubernetes cluster can be created that conforms to best practices. In fact, kubeadm can be used to set up a cluster that will pass the Kubernetes Conformance tests. kubeadm also supports other cluster lifecycle functions, such as bootstrap tokens and cluster upgrades. [1] Figure 1. Kubernetes...

Linux firewall, netfilter and iptables

20 Apr 2018
